As already explained in the Shopping basket chapter, there are several ways to create a shopping basket. In this exercise, we assume that no customer has yet been selected/activated.
ADD ITEMS TO THE SHOPPING BASKET VIA THE APPLICATION
- Expand the hamburger menu at the top right and open the ARTICLE application.
All articles are now displayed in tile form.
2. Now tap on the shopping basket icon for any item.
A new dialogue appears with a customer selection. As you know, a shopping basket cannot be created without an active customer. If a customer is already active, this dialogue is no longer displayed.
You can see whether a customer is already active at the top left of the header.

3. Now select any customer from the dialogue offered.
Another dialogue appears. Not only is a customer assigned to a shopping basket, but also the order type. Which order types are offered depends on your company-specific configuration.

4. Select any order type.
You will now see the original item screen again. The shopping trolley that you tapped on at the beginning is now no longer empty but full. You will also see the shopping trolley with a quantity at the top left of the hamburger menu.

5. You can now continue shopping. Tap on any other shopping trolley within the item view. You can see how the shopping trolley at the top right increases the number of items.
Now it’s time to take a look straight into the shopping basket.
6. Tap on the shopping basket at the top right, which now shows the quantities.
ADD ITEMS TO THE SHOPPING BASKET USING THE QUICK ITEM ENTRY FUNCTION
Now go directly to the shopping basket. We will now add further items to the shopping basket using the quick item entry function. Please note that you must know the article number or at least part of the article number.
7. Tap on the ‘Quick article entry icon’ at the bottom of the shopping basket . Now enter the article number you know in the ‘Article number’ field in the new fast entry screen.
All corresponding articles are now displayed in a list. The more you restrict the ‘Article number’ field, the more targeted the article list will be.
8. Now tap on the desired item. The cursor jumps to the ‘Quantity’ field. Enter any quantity and press the Enter key (do not press DONE straight away).
You will now see that the selected item is shown in a list below. You can now repeat this process as required.

9. Now tap the Done button at the top right. This will take you back to the shopping basket and you will see that the items are now in the shopping basket.
To return to the ARTICLES application, simply tap on the ‘article icon’ at the bottom. In the same way, you can call up the ARTICLES application again via the hamburger menu and add further articles to the shopping basket as described in step 1. As a customer is now active, you will no longer be asked for a customer. To return to the shopping basket, simply tap on the shopping basket again at the top left of the hamburger icon.
Another option for adding items to the shopping basket is to use the app’s scan function. Tap on the barcode icon
and scan the desired items. The prerequisite is that you allow the app to access the camera and that the barcodes are also entered in the system.
CREATE ANOTHER SHOPPING BASKET FOR THE ACTIVE CUSTOMER
10. Return to the shopping basket and tap on the icon to create a new shopping basket for the active customer
. Confirm the following dialogue for selecting an order type by selecting any order type.
You will now see an empty shopping basket. Here you can proceed in the same way as with the previously created shopping basket. You can add goods to the shopping basket via the ARTICLES application or via the quick article entry function.
CREATE ANOTHER SHOPPING BASKET FOR A NEW CUSTOMER
11. To create a shopping basket for another customer, tap on the icon for creating a new shopping basket for a new customer
. You will now see that the selection dialogue for entering a customer appears again. Select any customer here and any order type in the next dialogue.
Please note in this context that the active customer – you can see the active customer at the top – has now changed. This means that everything you add to the shopping basket now counts for this customer.
You will now see an empty shopping basket again. Here you can proceed in the same way as with the previously created shopping basket.
You have now created several shopping baskets. Now let’s take a look at how many shopping baskets are currently active.
12. To do this, tap on the minimise icon at the bottom left.
.

You will now see all active shopping baskets in the list on the left. You can now switch back and forth between the individual shopping baskets as required. Each time you switch, the active customer is also changed accordingly at the top. To return to the shopping basket view, simply tap on the maximise icon ![]()
EDIT ORDER HEADER DATA AND SIGN SHOPPING BASKET
13. Now switch back to the shopping basket view. You will see four areas on the left:
- Customer
- Delivery address
- Delivery information
- Check shopping basket
In the Delivery address area, you can enter your own address that differs from the delivery address currently entered. In the Information area, you have the option of changing various order-related fields. Which fields are displayed here depends on your company-specific settings. You can also decide whether or not the shopping basket should be signed before release. In our exercise, we want the shopping basket to be signed by the customer before release.
14. In the Information area, tap on the ‘Sign by’ field. A window opens in which you can enter a name. Below the name is a field in which the customer can sign using a finger or a suitable pen. After signing, tap the ‘Done’ button to close the information area.

You will now see a lock icon at the top left. This icon means that the shopping basket is locked and can no longer be changed. If you still need to make changes, tap on the lock icon. This will open the shopping basket again and you can make changes. Please note that you will need a signature again after opening a shopping basket that has already been locked.

ISSUE ORDER CONFIRMATION AND RELEASE SHOPPING BASKET
Before you release the shopping basket, you can have an order confirmation issued.
The issue of an order confirmation is not yet a release of the shopping basket.
15. Tap on the ‘Export icon’ to output an order/order confirmation
.
The order confirmation will appear. Here you have the option of choosing between the order overview and a lookbook. You can also use the export button to export the order as a PDF. Tap the Done button to exit the order overview.

At the end of the process, the shopping basket is released.
16. Tap on ‘Release’ at the top right to release the shopping basket. You will be asked whether you have checked the shopping basket and whether you want to release it. Tap on Release again.
The shopping basket is now cancelled and is no longer available on the screen.
Attention: a released shopping basket can no longer be called up in polumana. The shopping basket is transferred to the connected cloud and then deleted (fire and forget). You can see which and how many shopping baskets you have placed in the transfer log.
If you have several shopping baskets in stock, the next shopping basket will automatically be loaded in your view after one shopping basket has been released.
